How Gracyn got here…
Gracyn Burgess is originally from Lexington, SC, and grew up with a golf club in her hand from an early age. Throughout her youth, she played multiple sports, but ultimately chose to only pursue golf after her freshman year of high school. During her junior golf career, she won the SCJGA player of the year twice, CGA player of the year, the State Newspaper Midlands Golfer of the Year, the Lexington Chronicle Co-Female athlete of the Year, and became the first player to ever win all 3 major CGA Junior Girls Championships in the same year.
In 2016, she verbally committed to play college golf for Clemson University. In 2018, Burgess began her college golf career with the Tigers and went on to play in 19 tournaments and had 10 career rounds of par or better. Academically, she was named to the President’s List 3 times and the Dean’s list once, she was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll 4 times and was named a two-time Academic All-American Scholar by the National Golf Coaches Association. In 2021, she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Communication in just three years, and she is currently finishing her Master’s Degree in Athletic Leadership from Clemson University. Also during her college career, she was a member of many athletic groups including the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Tiger Leadership Academy, and POWER Women’s Leadership Academy. She was also awarded the ACC top six award for community service.
Also, in 2022 Gracyn attended the NCAA Career in Sports Forum and the Athlete Ally Leadership Summit.
